Before to this initiative, no other spacecraft could able to overcome the extreme heat of the sun. The NASA robotic spacecraft ‘Solar Probe Plus’ (SPP) will reach an orbit in the corona of just over 4 million miles away from the sun.
This Solar Probe Plus will reach 7 times more than earlier spacecraft tried to reach closer to the sun.
As a result, this spacecraft will get burnt every time while reaching through incredible heat.
NASA’s announcement of the adventure was announced at 8:00 pm on Indian time, at William Eckhardt Research Center, Auditorium in Chicago University. Thomas Zurubsen, Associate Administrator, NASA Science Mission Directorate of Washington, Professor Mission Scientist at Johnson Hopkins University, Nikolay Fox, University of Chicago Emeritus Professor Eugene Parker and Professor Eric Isaac and Dean of Physical Sciences Division at Chicago University, Rocky Kolb were present at the press conference.
NASA has named this mission as the name of the famous solar physicist Eugene Parker. Parker Solar Probe. According to NASA, within 31st of July 2018 to August 2019, will start taking off to reach the sun.
The Solar Probe Plus will be launched from Cape Canaveral using Delta Four Rocket. By passing the Mercury, it will enter the Sun’s atmosphere, just seven years from now, on December 19, 2024. Before leaving the Earth, Solar Probe Plus will reach Mercury first near the end of September 27, 2018.
And Solar Probe Plus, will leave the orbit of Mercury for the last time on October 31, 2024, and enters the orbit of Sun.
How big is this spacecraft? How does it look like?
Professor Dhrujjoti Bandyopadhyay, professor of solar physics at the University of Maryland, who is involved in Solar Probe Plus project says, “During the launch, the spacecraft will have a weight of 610 kg. The Solar Probe Plus looks like a big car. When the sun reached the orbital corona, the spacecraft will run 200 kilometers or 120 miles per seconds. Solar Probe Plus’s ‘Hit Shield’ will remain protected from solar heat and solar radiation. It will have to tolerate the temperature about 1400 degree Celsius. ”

Why is Solar Probe Plus being sent to the sun orbit?
In a reply to the question of a news press by e-mail, Mission Project Scientist, Johns Hopkins, University Professor Nicola Fox wrote, “There is some incidents like solar wind (solar wind), solar storm (solar storm) and coronal mass ejection (CME) which are extremely dangerous to human civilization. We still do not have any idea about their source or motive. If we would have, we can prepare to save civilization, we can arrange protection. This expedition will bring the opportunity to scientists.
In addition to this, understanding the sun’s magnetic fields, the magnetic field behavior during solar wind will also be opened by this Solar Probe Plus. It can be known why the sun’s atmosphere or corona is so hot and to know which increases the speed of the solar wind, and so on.
